The sources of the location data, the map and the typography used on Maplugo.
Countries, states and cities
- Source: IBGE: states and municipalities of Brazil, from the IBGE locations API.
- Countries States Cities Database (ODbL): countries, states and cities of the other countries. The data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
Maplugo open data
The Maplugo catalog of countries, states and cities combines IBGE data with the Countries States Cities Database and is available for download under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.
Format: compressed JSON (gzip). At the top: notice (license and attributions), version, sources (source and version of each: Ibge or CountriesStatesCities) and countries. Each country (iso2, iso3, pt, en) has the list states (key, code, ibge, pt, en, source), and each state has the list cities (c: key in the source, i: IBGE code, p: name in Portuguese, e: name in English when different, la and lo: latitude and longitude).
